Students will learn the basic fundamentals of handbuilding and wheelthrowing. Slab, coil, and pinch techniques in handbuilding are covered. Handbuilding students will utilize the extruder and slab roller while creating their work, as well as having a wide variety of plaster molds at their disposal. Wheelthrowing students are taught how to execute the basic fundamental steps of throwing (centering, opening and raising walls). Once these skills are achieved students are on their way to creating bowls, plates and cylindrical shapes. Surface design and glazing will also be covered. No experience necessary. | |||
